4. June 2018 – August 2018 – 2 months (Thumb injury)
In June 2018, Bumrah sustained a thumb injury while attempting a catch during the India vs Ireland T20I series. He injured himself in the first game and was ruled out of the entire series. Bumrah returned to the side after a two-month break for the Test series against England. Before his return, he missed the three-match T20I series, three-match ODI series, and the first two Tests against England. He came back in the third Test and played in the subsequent matches.
